Revealing Fraud
Underground economy and worker compensation premium fraud has a vast impact on business and injured workers. Underground economy thrives on data silos and a lack of single view of a business and its activities. Reducing fraud is one of the top five priorities for LNI, the state agency that regulates workers’ compensation.
Cayzen engaged with the State Agency dealing in worker compensation and contractor enforcement in an innovative architecture effort to tackle this complex semantic business network. The architecture was founded on an innovative approach to data modeling and aggregation of GIS mapping and unique data search algorithm combined with a neuroscience based visualization and user experience to surface the violators and transient worksites.
The system aggregated data from many different state agencies, local governments permitting systems, prevailing wage contract system and other sources to generate quality leads for exposing these violators. The system also provided a mobile application for the inspectors in the field to plan the visits based on GIS location information and fraud alerts and capture inspection outcomes, issue violations and make high quality referrals. The use of technology to simplify this complex fraud web continues to improve the business and work environment in Washington.
